Your Automatic Doors are often the first impression a customer or visitor may have of your company. Reliability and performance are obviously key factors to consider when choosing which type of Automatic Door should be installed and which preventative maintenance programme is most suitable for you.
Automatic pedestrian doors require regular service and maintenance at least annually according to the manufacturers specifications to comply with BS EN 16005:2012 and ensure their safe operation and reliability.
An annual service is usually required for Automatic doors (as a minimum depending on site conditions and frequency of use) by a competent technician qualified to BS EN 16005, and this must be recorded in the door service log book.
Checks are conducted not only for the automatic door operator, but also any associated safety sensors and equipment.
All MGS technicians are trained and accredited to BS EN 16005 under the Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA) scheme, to give you complete peace of mind that you are fulfilling your legal obligations and your automatic doors are certified as safe in use.

Your Dedicated Service Account Manager
Every Quarter, we will send you a detailed Service Report on the assets we maintain for you, with the option for you to meet your Account Manager if requested.
What happens during an automatic door service visit?
- Service carried out by a Fully Qualified BS/EN16005 Technician
- All Mechanical aspects of the entrance checked and adjusted as required
- All activation and safety systems checked and adjusted as required
- All finger protection and drawing in hazards checked
- Any Track, Drive arms, Floor guides and Carriage Assemblies Checked and adjusted as required
- All fixings checked and tightened as required
- A BS EN16005 Authorised Technicians Checklist will be completed
- Preferential rates for any associated callouts and repairs
Following our technicians site visit you will receive:
- Completed worksheet
- Completed BS EN 16005 Authorised Technicians Checklist
- Quarterly Door Service report (if requested)
Remember, building occupiers have a responsibility to conduct weekly safety checks on the operation and safety of their automatic doors, and have a legal obligation to keep a log book recording annual service and any maintenance visits for their automatic door assets.
